IMAGE COMPRESSOR v1.0 — LITE (FREE VERSION)
Shrink your images in one click — faster than AI, done for you.
No website uploads, no coding, no AI prompts. Your images never leave your computer.

WHAT IT DOES
- Pick images (one, many, or a whole folder) — JPG, JPEG and PNG.
- Choose a quality level and a max size, then click Compress.
- Get optimized JPGs/PNGs with before/after sizes shown for every file,
  plus the total space saved.

RUN IT IN 3 STEPS (do this once)
1. Install Python (3.8 or newer) from python.org.
On Windows, tick "Add python.exe to PATH" during install.
2. Open a terminal/command prompt inside this folder and run:
       pip install -r requirements.txt
3. Double-click image_compressor.py and use the window.

HOW TO USE
Step 1 — Pick your images: "Add images..." for individual files,
"Add a folder..." for a whole folder of images.
Step 2 — Choose settings:
  - Quality slider: lower number = smaller file. 80 is a good everyday choice.
(Applies to JPG files. PNG files are shrunk losslessly.)
  - Max width/height: bigger images are resized down to this. "Original" keeps them as-is.
  - Save folder: where the compressed files go. Leave blank and they save
next to the originals with "-compressed" in the name.
Step 3 — Click Compress. Watch the results list show each file's
before/after size, then a total of everything you saved.

LITE (FREE) LIMITS
This free Lite version compresses up to 10 images per run. If you pick
more, the first 10 are compressed and the rest are listed as not done.

WANT THE FULL POWER?
Image Compressor — Pro version ($5, The Freelancer Kit): compresses
unlimited images per run — whole folders in one click.

FAQ
Will it overwrite my originals?
No. Compressed files get "-compressed" in the name. Your originals are untouched.

Does it work without the internet?
Yes. Everything runs on your computer after the one-time install.

My PNG didn't shrink much — why?
PNGs are already efficient. The tool re-saves them losslessly, so some shrink
and some barely change. JPGs shrink a lot more, especially at lower quality.

Something went wrong?
Re-run `pip install -r requirements.txt` and try again. That's the fix 99% of the time.
